Job Description

Brazing and Soldering:

Proficiently brazes or solders HVAC pipes, including copper and black pipes, to repair leaks, joints, and ensure proper connections.

Fittings and Pipework:

Familiar with various fittings and pipework, including threading and grooving copper and black pipe, and installing them according to blueprints and specifications.

HVAC System Installation and Maintenance:

Installs, maintains, and repairs HVAC systems, including air conditioning and ventilation equipment, and ensures systems meet safety and code requirements.

Refrigerant Line Installation:

May be involved in installing refrigerant lines, including copper pipes and gas lines.

Troubleshooting and Repair:

Diagnoses and repairs electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems, including identifying maintenance risks and performing warranty services.

Blueprint Reading and Compliance:

Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and written instructions to perform installations and repairs, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards.

Safety Procedures:

Adheres to company safety procedures and practices when using tools, materials, and equipment.
Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in using hand and power tools, equipment, and materials used in HVAC trades.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to identify and diagnose problems in HVAC systems and perform repairs effectively.

Communication:

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, customers, and supervisors.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform tasks that may involve physical exertion, such as lifting, carrying, and climbing.

Safety Awareness:

Knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to HVAC work.
