Job Description

Overview
The Pilot is an integral part of the SAR crew and operates under the direction of the Duty Captain when on duty. This is an advanced-level position with a helicopter rescue unit and requires a current instrument rating on type. As a SAR Pilot, the PI must be highly proficient in Search and Rescue Operations for day and NVG flight. The PI is required to maintain satisfactory annual flight evaluations for Standardization, Instrument Flight, NVG, and SAR Mission Operations. The PI will maintain an annual medical evaluation and meet the currency for CRM and HUET/HEED training.



Will Also be responsible for:



1. Perform duties as a pilot of a SAR crew to conduct all Search and Rescue missions assigned, in addition to conducting Medical Evacuation flights.

2. Perform all tasks assigned by the PC, assist in mission planning, and prep the aircraft for departure.

3. Maintain an indepth knowledge SAR related mission tasks and flight profiles, along with an advanced knowledge in aircraft systems and Search and Rescue flight operations.

4. Ensure you meet all ATP requirements during your annual period.

5. Perform as Pilot on AW139 as directed by the Pilot-in-Command to accomplishing scheduled and unscheduled flights as well as functional check flights, and support missions as prescribed by customer requirements.

6. Recommend needed changes to the unit program to foster improved proficiency of the system and for all SAR crew members.


7. Assist to develop the future SAR strategy to increase the productivity of the SAR support to the UAE community.


8. Encourage the development of infrastructure to support search and rescue operations, communications, training, and simulation system.


9. Handling any other assigned task from his direct supervisor/ manager.

Qualification
High school graduate or equivilent.




Minimum 1500 Flight Hours Rotary-Wing hours.




Must have a commercial helicopter instrument rating FAA/GCAA, EASA, or military equivilent.


Experience
Three years' experience piloting twin engine helicopter, with a minimum of 800 flight hours.




Factory training in aircraft model to be flown or other combination of experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.



150 hours of NVG flight



Must possess knowledge of SAR services and regulations.



Offshore SAR and MEDEVAC experience highly desired.
