Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and effective Pilates classes, including Reformer, Chair, Mat and Tower sessions
Tailor classes to meet the needs of diverse clients, from beginners to advanced practitioners, including those in rehabilitation
Demonstrate proper techniques and modifications to ensure safety and effectiveness
Conduct initial assessments to understand the client's fitness levels, goals, and any special considerations related to rehabilitation needs
Provide personalised recommendations and adjustments based on client progress, medical history, and feedback
Incorporate classic and contemporary techniques into Pilates sessions to support clients recovering from injuries or managing chronic conditions
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as physical therapists, to ensure a cohesive approach to client care and progress
Design and implement class plans and workout routines that align with client goals and enhance their overall experience
Stay current with industry trends and new Pilates techniques to incorporate into sessions
Ensure all Pilates equipment, including Reformers, Chairs, and mats, are properly maintained and in good working condition
Set up and clean equipment before and after classes
Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, offering encouragement and support throughout their journey
Address client questions, and concerns, and provide constructive feedback
Assist with scheduling and managing class registrations
Maintain accurate records of client attendance, progress, and rehabilitation outcomes
Pursue ongoing education and training to stay updated with the latest Pilates techniques, either classic or contemporary
Participate in studio meetings and contribute to the development of studio programs and initiatives
Requirements:
Minimum of 3-4 years of experience as a Pilates instructor, with a strong emphasis on Reformer, Chair, Mat and Tower
Certified Pilates Instructor (e.g., PMA, STOTT PILATES, BASI) with specialisation in traditional and modern methods
Additional certifications in anatomy, injury prevention, or related fields are a plus
Strong understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise physiology
Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing rehabilitation-focused Pilates programs
Exceptional knowledge of Pilates principles, equipment, and techniques
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-centered approach
Ability to motivate and inspire clients of varying fitness levels and backgrounds
Attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality instruction and client care
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
Experience working with specific populations, such as post-surgical patients or individuals with chronic conditions
