Imperium Commodity Search is working with an international leading commodity trader currently operating out of over 15+ global locations and looking to further expand their operations within the bulk materials space. Focusing primarily on APAC and African markets for coal, this company is looking to add experienced traders with existing and transferrable books of business within the Black Sea & Mediterranean regions to the team in Dubai.
Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing and back-to-back trading a book of coal into Mediterranean markets (metallurgical or thermal), ideally from Black Sea / CIS origins
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and consumers while developing an understanding of customer coal requirements (coal blends, coke blends etc.) for new accounts
• Track market movements and information as well as monitoring pricing curves and analysis to capitalise on and ensure profitable trading
• Negotiate and execute contracts and customer supply agreements whilst working with the in-house chartering team to ensure smooth trades
• Work with government officials/agencies on import agreements and support where required
• Manage relationships with ports/shipping merchants and charterers
• Represent the company at international trade exhibitions/conferences and generate beneficial relationships in the bulk materials space
• Grow and market the desk from the beginning, increasing market share and driving increased revenues across the sale of coal products

Experience:

• Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years' physical trading experience in the relevant markets
• Must hold an existing and transferable book of business in the aforementioned regions (Black Sea, CIS, Mediterranean)
• Excellent knowledge of markets in Ukraine / Russia and surrounding geography
• Good network of buyers across Mediterranean countries
• Highly skilled in negotiation and key account management
• Detailed understanding of technical marketing requirements with a proven track record trading metallurgical and or thermal coal
• Located in UAE or happy to relocate - ideally holding full right to work without sponsorship
