About the job:

The candidate's primary role and responsibility is to collect blood samples from patients for medical testing. They ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of samples while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Communicate effectively with customers, explaining procedures to ease their concerns. Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures accurately and safely. Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing according to standard protocols. Maintain a clean and organized work environment and adhere to infection control practices. Maintain patient confidentiality and provide exceptional care. Ensure cleanliness and functionality of phlebotomy equipment. Follow safety protocols for a safe environment. Collaborate with medical and lab staff for timely results. Keep detailed records of specimens and procedures. Participate in ongoing education and training.

Operations and Compliance

Co-ordinate with Dubai Health and Dubai Health Authority as when needed including Audits and inspections Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures. Ensure compliance with radiation protection and safety standards. Educate and reassure patients about the blood sample collection process. Follow infection control and hygiene protocols. Stay updated on best practices and advancements in phlebotomy techniques. Coordinate with Admin Team to arrange timely AMC of the Phlebotomy equipment's as per Dubai Health policies. Participate in continuing education and training sessions. Closely work with the Operations Supervisor and Medical Director

Technical & System Handling

Assembling of Equipment Able to operate Centrifuge and prepare the samples for logistics i.e. delivery to the central lab.

Teamwork & Professional Development

Work collaboratively with team members to ensure seamless service delivery. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance job knowledge and skills development.

Environment, Social & Governance:

Promote judicious use of natural resources. Adhere to the Dubai Health and DHA environment, health, and safety policies, objectives, and guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

Certification as a Phlebotomist from a recognized institution. Valid DHA license to practice in the UAE. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Phlebotomist or similar field. Strong proficiency in venipuncture and blood collection techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage. Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

Language:

Fluency in English (verbal and written) is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
