Job Description

:
  • Responsible for overall management of pharmacy from MOH and organization perspective.
  • Ensuring highest level patient/customer service and administrative work in pharmacy. Work strictly within the scope of Pharmacy.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for welcoming and greeting patients/customers as they enter the pharmacy.
  • Dispensing must be performed accurately in an orderly manner in the correct dosage & quantity as prescribed by the physician with clear instructions and in a package that maintains the potency of the medicine.
  • Assign, delegate and work closely with pharmacy staff. Facilitate, induct, train & develop staff on their job and evaluate them periodically. Encourage effective teamwork.
  • Ensure every patient walk\'s in has been taken care and nobody is left unattended and unsatisfied.
  • Each member of staff will be responsible for maintenance of medicine and general products on the rack and ensure locating the correct medicine from the rack as per prescription, maintain inventory and make sure it is handled properly. Under no circumstances lying of medicine on pharmacy floor would be entertained. Strict action would be taken against any pharmacy violating this procedure.
  • Responsible for handling phone calls in the pharmacy and providing information to customer queries.
  • Implement and Improve Quality SOP\'s in the pharmacy as per MOH guidelines and work closely with Quality Manager.
  • Ensure the pharmacy is MOH compliant and all the documentation is regularly updated and kept in the pharmacy.
  • Responsible for the Liquidation of pharmacy stock.
  • Ensure to have a proper plan to liquidate product with short shelf life to avoid non-moving and expiry issues
  • Give priority to non-moving stock for OTC.
  • Periodically visit our doctors and understand their requirements & ensure the availability of medicines in the pharmacy.
  • Each cash bill should be completed at the time of dispensing.
  • Monthly inventory checking data should be shared with the center manager, finance and purchase team.
  • Internal audit team will do stock checking in all pharmacies every month.
  • Controlled medicine register updating, billing and stock maintenance will be the responsibility of the pharmacist-in-charge.
  • Check the stock on the rack, on a weekly basis by the responsible staff of the rack and ensure to send the report to the pharmacy manager/supervisor.
  • Cleaning and arranging the medicines on the rack will be the responsibility of assigned staff.
  • Ensure periodic stock taking is done and any variance must be informed to the accounts department. Physical verification of the stock will be conducted every month and any discrepancy found will be the sole responsibility of the respective Pharmacy staff and the in- charge.
  • Responsible for checking the expiry of medicines daily and maintaining a stock inventory and ensure proper communication to the concerned person.
  • Ensure to check with the doctor and get the prescription changed in case of any change in the medicines and never take any own decision of changing medicine than what is prescribed.
  • Responsible for checking and submitting the insurance claim forms to insurance department.
  • Responsible for all the clerical paper works relating to insurance claims processed by his team on a regular basis.
  • Cash dealings must be accurate with proper approvals, and any variance must be informed to the accounts department.
  • Daily Insurance collection (Credit) statement and Insurance claims form should tally, claim forms should be sent to Insurance dept on daily basis. Logbook to be maintained for the cash sent with the assigned staff.
  • Remove the products/medicines from the rack 3 months before the expiry and send report to Purchase Coordinator.
  • Ensure to label the near expiry stock and return it to either NPCL or to the supplier.
  • Product Expiry on the rack will be the responsibility of the staff who is assigned for that particular rack.
  • A penalty will be charged if any near expiry product is found from the rack during inspection by the internal audit team.
  • Either 3 months before expiry the items should be liquidated or replaced with a long expiry.
Qualifications:

Education and Certification
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy(BPharm ) or Master\'s.
  • Valid MOH/DHA License or Eligibility to obtain one.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficient in handling and monitoring the quality, safety and use of the medicines, strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients.
  • Excellent and detail oriented when it comes to prescriptions and of dispensing of medicines.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
