Job Summary:

The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing prescription medications, providing expert pharmaceutical advice, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Dispensing Medications:
    • Accurately interpret and fill prescription orders while ensuring the correct dosage and form.
    • Verify patient information and prescription details to prevent medication errors.
  • Patient Consultation:
    • Provide professional advice to patients regarding their medications, including potential side effects, interactions, and proper usage.
    • Answer questions and address concerns to enhance patient understanding and compliance.
  • Medication Management:
    • Monitor and manage medication inventories to ensure adequate stock levels.
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and pharmacy documentation.
  • Health and Wellness Promotion:
    • Provide health and wellness information to patients, including counseling on over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and preventive measures.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to promote overall patient well-being.
  • Supervision and Training:
    • Oversee and guide pharmacy technicians and support staff in daily operations.
    • Provide training on new medications, protocols, and industry updates.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Participate in quality assurance programs to ensure the highest standards of pharmaceutical care.
    • Implement and adhere to safety and infection control measures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
  • State pharmacy license in good standing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working as a licensed pharmacist.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, and dosage forms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and patient safety.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
