A DOH-licensed Pharmacist responsible for dispensing medications, providing patient counselling, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring full compliance with DOH-Abu Dhabi pharmaceutical regulations. The role involves managing pharmacy operations, inventory, and supporting clinical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Dispensing and Patient Care

Accurately dispense prescription and OTC medications Review prescriptions to ensure correctness and prevent drug interactions Provide patient counselling on medication use, dosage, side effects, and storage Guide patients on chronic disease management such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma

Compliance and Safety

Ensure compliance with DOH regulations and pharmacy standards Maintain controlled medications register as per DOH guidelines Ensure proper documentation of narcotics and semi-controlled drugs Maintain confidentiality of patient information

Inventory and Store Management

Monitor stock levels and ensure availability of medicines Apply FIFO/FEFO stock management for expiry control Conduct regular stock audits and report discrepancies Coordinate with procurement for replenishment Ensure proper storage including temperature logs, humidity control, and cold chain medications

Administrative and System Duties

Update prescriptions in pharmacy software such as PMS or ERP Submit insurance claims and verify approvals Prepare daily and monthly pharmacy reports Support internal audits and DOH inspections

Team and Operational Support

Work closely with doctors, nurses, and clinical teams for medication orders Train pharmacy assistants or technicians when required Ensure smooth day-to-day pharmacy operations

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or Pharm D) Valid DOH/HAAD Pharmacist License or active eligibility Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a pharmacy or medical center Knowledge of UAE pharmaceutical laws, controlled drugs handling, and insurance processes Excellent communication and patient counselling skills Proficiency in pharmacy software
