Permit Area Operator
Job Description
Job responsibilities:
Ensure all work in the area is conducted under valid and approved permits (Hot Work, Cold Work, Confined Space, etc.).
Verify that job-specific risk assessments (JSA, HAZID, HAZOP) are completed and understood by workers.
Monitor and control the activation and closure of permits.
Maintain a log of all active permits in the area.
Conduct routine inspections of the worksite to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices.
Intervene in unsafe practices and report safety violations or incidents.
Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
Maintain accurate records of permits issued, work completed, and safety inspections.
Report near misses, incidents, and non-conformances.
Ensure documentation complies with internal procedures and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
Knowledge of oil and gas operations (upstream/downstream depending on location).
Familiarity with PTW systems and Control of Work procedures.
Understanding of HSE standards and practices. NEBOSH Certified.
4-5 years of experience. 2 years of experience with oil and gas project.
