. This is a strategic leadership role for a professional with
complete end-to-end knowledge
of perfume creation, formulation, and product launch -- from concept to market.
The selected candidate will serve as the
Head of the Perfume Department
, overseeing all aspects of fragrance development, sourcing, blending, quality control, packaging design, branding, and launch strategy.
Key Responsibilities:1. Perfume Development & Formulation
Create original and unique fragrances aligned with the brand's luxury positioning, focusing on
Oud, Agarwood, and botanical scents
(e.g., Ruh Khus, Ruh Gulab, Jannat-e-Ward).
Manage the
fragrance formula library
and ensure all creations meet IFRA safety and compliance standards.
Experiment with blending techniques, ensuring consistency and quality in every batch.
Stay up-to-date with global perfume trends and ingredients.
2. Sourcing & Ingredient Management
Identify and source the finest quality
natural absolutes, essential oils, and aroma chemicals
from trusted global suppliers.
Maintain cost control while ensuring premium quality raw materials.
Work closely with suppliers for exclusive ingredient sourcing and custom extractions.
3. Production Oversight
Supervise the
entire perfume-making process
, from lab-scale trials to large-scale production.
Ensure consistency across batches, managing maceration, filtration, and bottling processes.
Maintain rigorous
quality control
and stability testing for all products.
4. Packaging & Branding Collaboration
Collaborate with designers to create luxury packaging that aligns with the brand identity.
Provide input on bottle shapes, caps, labels, and presentation styles for maximum market appeal.
5. Launch & Marketing Support
Work with the marketing team to develop fragrance storytelling, naming, and positioning.
Support brand campaigns, events, and influencer collaborations for product launches.
Provide fragrance training to sales teams and partners.
6. Department Leadership & Strategy
Build and lead a small team of perfume assistants, lab technicians, and production staff.
Develop yearly
fragrance roadmap
aligned with business goals.
Report directly to the company management on R&D progress and market trends.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum
5-10 years
of proven experience as a
Perfumer / Fragrance Developer
in a luxury perfume house or independent lab.
Complete knowledge of
natural and synthetic raw materials
.
Strong understanding of
Middle Eastern perfumery preferences
and luxury market trends.
Ability to manage
both creative and technical aspects
of perfume production.
Experience in
launching new perfume lines
from scratch.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills..
Education:
Degree/Diploma in
Perfumery, Cosmetic Science, Chemistry
, or related field.
Training from
ISIPCA, Grasse Institute of Perfumery
, or equivalent institution is highly desirable.
