Wood is looking to hire a People & Organisation (P&O) Manager to join our team in Abu Dhabi.
The People & Organisation (P&O) Manager is accountable for leading the delivery of the people agenda in their area of operational responsibility. The role is responsible for implementing the P&O strategy for their area of responsibility in support of business objectives.
The role acts as a business partner, providing advice and counsel in effective people management practices, ensuring that operations and processes within their area of responsibility are aligned to the overall business strategy, in line with relevant regulations, laws and best practice.
The role is responsible for developing a high-performing P&O team with strong business partnering skills to provide innovative solutions to support leaders across the entire employee life-cycle. The role supports people priorities; delivers employee engagement, talent priorities, workforce planning and resourcing; builds organisational effectiveness; leads change management; and mitigates risk through effective employee and industrial relations. This role is accountable for all aspects of people in their area of responsibility, supported by Shared Services and Centres of Expertise. This role is responsible for developing effective leadership, and appropriate development of people and skills within their area of responsibility.
Key Accountabiilties and Responsibiilties
Deliver the P&O strategy in their area of responsibility with the aim of bringing P&O closer to the business as trusted advisors, in support of short and long term goals, including future growth aspirations
Deliver P&O global, regional and country projects
Ensure P&O decisions are aligned with both business and functional objectives
Management and administration of direct and indirect reports working locally and remotely, maintaining open and effective lines of communications
Provide consultative, problem-solving support for challenging business issues and ensure expert functional support is provided to the business in a timely and cost effective manner
May lead the delivery of P&O related acquisition and integration activities in area of responsibility
Ensure all relevant metrics and reporting KPIs are actively monitored and reported on
Maintain expert knowledge of functional speciality by staying abreast of best practices, legal developments, emerging trends, technological advancements and benchmark comparisons
Develops effective leadership in their business area, aligned to Wood culture, values and behaviours
Drives robust people development and performance management throughout the business area, to build and retain skills needed to deliver the operational business in the short to medium term
Deliver employee communication and support employee engagement
Support and participate in emergency response activities ensuring effective P&O presence
Responsible for P&O policy application, ensuring compliance with relevant group standards, regulatory requirements and operating procedures
Support the creation of an organisational culture which fosters innovation and collaboration, continuous improvement and change
Assure quality on the delivery of people solutions, proactively seeking and addressing customer feedback
Lead by personal example and encourage all employees to conduct their activities in accordance with all applicable laws and the group\xe2\x80\x99s standards and policies
Skills / Qualifications
Qualifications:
Degree level qualification in HR or business management preferred
Job specific experience:
Experience in business-focused HR roles within a dynamic organisation
Experience of managing change, putting high emphasis on co-operation and business partnership across the company
Good knowledge of people practices and applicable legislative frameworks
Previous experience of dealing with industrial and employee relations issues
Knowledge of:
Business service offering and customer base
Business performance and how it can deliver and add value to its customers
Awareness of external factors, competitors and their impact on business strategy and success
