Pedia Ward Staff Nurse
Job Summary:
A Pediatric Ward Staff Nurse provides general and specialized nursing care to children and adolescents admitted to a pediatric unit for various medical and surgical conditions. The focus is on family-centered care, growth, development, and creating a therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Comprehensive Care: Provide direct nursing care, including bathing, feeding, medication administration, and monitoring of patients.
• Assessment: Perform routine and focused assessments tailored to the child's age and developmental stage.
• Family Education: Educate patients and their families on the child's condition, treatment plan, home care, and discharge instructions.
• Developmental Support: Engage children in age-appropriate activities and provide emotional support to reduce the stress of hospitalization.
• Collaboration: Work closely with pediatricians, play therapists, dietitians, and social workers to ensure holistic care.
• Medication Administration: Calculate and administer oral, IV, and intramuscular medications safely, using pediatric-specific formulas.
• Preparation & Assistance: Prepare patients for surgery or procedures and provide post-operative care.
• Documentation: Accurately document patient progress, family education, and any concerns in the patient's chart.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
• Valid DHA license or eligibility letter.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a pediatric ward or clinic.
• Certification in BLS and PALS is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children and their parents.
