Our PE department has transformed student outcomes and succeeded in inspiring a love of learning at GEMS World Academy. This has been achieved through the dedication of staff, their exceptional subject knowledge, and the department's forward-thinking approach to data and the curriculum. The PE department is highly regarded among our student body for the care and personal support offered to students.
We are now looking for an innovative PE teacher to join this successful team from January 2026.
The ideal candidate should have a strong track record in effective teaching and helping students succeed. While experience in teaching the IB Primary, Middle or Diploma programme is preferred, outstanding teachers from any curriculum background are encouraged to apply. Alignment with the IB philosophy and commitment to the Learner Profile values are crucial. A genuine passion for working in a non-selective and culturally diverse community is also a key requirement.
Skills

• A certified professional teaching qualification at degree level, such as B. Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent specialism in Physical Education
• A minimum of 3 years experience teaching Primary Physical Education, ideally within an IB curriculum school, however this is not mandatory
• Availability from January 2026
• The experience, personality and educational philosophy to continue to drive the education agenda at this flagship GEMS World school catering for students from over 100 countries
• The desire to provide outstanding teaching and learning
• Aspiration to work in a world class school with significant opportunities for career development and advancement
• Priority will be given to candidates who are level 2 Swim England qualified
• Priority will be given to candidates who are able to teach at Primary level
