Job Summary: As a Paymaster/General Accountant in our esteemed 5-star luxury hotel, you will play a crucial role in managing payroll processes and ensuring accurate financial transactions. This position combines responsibilities related to payroll administration with general accounting duties, contributing to the overall financial well-being of the hotel. The Paymaster/General Accountant will work closely with various departments to maintain financial accuracy and compliance.Paymaster:

• Provide an effective payroll auditing system as a tool for the hotel\xe2\x80\x99s management
• To ensure that all \xe2\x80\x9cstatus change\xe2\x80\x9d notices are duly authorized before preparing them for data processing.
• Prepare the final settlement for Leavers upon receipt of resignation letter.
• Ensure that all attendance records are properly completed and approved by the Heads of Departments.
• Verify utilization benefit such as vacation and airfare are properly documented.
• Have a full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned Place of Work to the standard set.
• Be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different sub departments of the Accounting & Finance Department.
• Reconcile monthly payroll costs and to prepare the resulting journal entries for posting to the General Ledger.
• Prepare the monthly reconciliation of all the payroll and benefit related accounts of the local ambassadors.

General Cashier:

• Collect the daily deposit in presence of witness from the Hotel safe in accordance with Hotel Standards
• Deposit the daily collection in the designated bank while accompanied by Hotel security in accordance with Hotel Standards
• Prepare the General Cashier Daily Report in a timely manner
• Function as custodian of petty cash fund and administer petty cash disbursements to Team members\xe2\x80\x99 in accordance with Hotel Policies. Ensure that the fund is counted and reconciled at the end of the day
• Maintain adequate currency change and provide change to Hotel cashiers as required
• Ensure that the general cashier safe is secure, locked and password/combination is kept confidential. Access to general cashier cabin should be restricted to authorised persons only
• Develop and maintain manual and computer filing system and ensure that the files are properly named, cataloged and access is available for authorized persons only.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Paymaster or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, labor laws, and tax regulations.
• Proficient in payroll software, accounting software, and MS Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
