Job Description

The Patient Safety Officer is responsible for working with clinical and non-clinical staff for the purpose of measurably improving patient safety and reducing patient harm/errors. Provides direction to the organizational patient safety strategy. With appropriate collaboration, designs, coordinates and directs the development of comprehensive Patient Safety and Risk Management Plans/Programs. Experience required:

A minimum of five (5) years' experience in a hospital facility required, Quality/Risk experience, required.Skills required:

High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, management, staff, and other customers. Demonstrated customer service skills, including the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking, flexibility, and creativity when resolving customer issues. Ability to apply critical thinking, communication, influence, and flexibility to make optimal decisions based on multiple variables and desired outcomes. Ability to organize and define problems, develop strategies, and carry out action plans. Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner. Recognizes and accepts accountability for safety and care of patients.
