We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef for our soon-to-open coffee shop located in Jumeirah.
He/She must be responsible for leading and managing all pastry and bakery operations, ensuring high-quality desserts, baked goods, and confections. The role requires creativity, consistency, strong leadership, and extensive hands-on experience in professional kitchens. The Pastry Chef will oversee menu development, production, food safety, cost control, and team training while maintaining exceptional presentation and taste standards.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, develop, and execute a wide variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and baked products
Create and update dessert menus in line with seasonal ingredients and brand standards
Supervise daily pastry kitchen operations, including preparation, baking, plating, and presentation
Train, mentor, and manage pastry staff to maintain quality and efficiency
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
Control food costs, portioning, inventory, and minimize waste
Coordinate with the Executive Chef and other departments for menu planning and events
Maintain consistency in flavor, texture, and visual presentation
Monitor equipment usage and report maintenance needs
Stay updated on pastry trends, techniques, and innovations
