Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to lead the preparation of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods. The ideal candidate will have strong technical baking skills, a passion for creative presentation, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:Production & Preparation

Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, breads, and dessert items according to recipes and standards. Create new desserts and seasonal pastry offerings. Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation. Decorate pastries and desserts using a variety of techniques (icing, glazing, caramelization, garnishing).

Kitchen Operations

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies. Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients. Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely (mixers, ovens, proofers, etc.).

Quality & Safety

Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations. Ensure allergen management and proper labeling of items. Maintain high standards of sanitation and workspace cleanliness.

Collaboration

Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff to plan menus. Train and supervise junior pastry staff when needed. Assist with special events, catering, or custom dessert orders.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker. Formal training in pastry arts or culinary school certification (preferred). Strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry fundamentals. Creativity and an eye for detail in presentation. Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) occasionally. Manual dexterity for decorating and intricate detail work.
