Job Description

Position Purpose Responsible making and serving first class desserts for the brasserie and fine dining restaurant, producing daily morning goods and breads, all the time working to incredibly high standards. Must be willing to learn and develop their skills therefore enhancing the teams overall skills and ability to achieve culinary goals. Working Hours Working hours will be 5 days a week or an average of 50 hours per week (up to a maximum of 54 hours per week as per UAE labor law), exclusive of 1 hour meal/other breaks per day. Primary Responsibilities Be passionate about customer service with the capability of delivering amazing hospitality to our guests. Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest. Visually inspects, selects and uses only food items ideal cooking, in preparation of all menu items. Checks and controls the proper storage of product, monitoring age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality. Keeps all refrigeration equipment, storage and working areas clean and clutter free, complying with Health department regulations. Prepares daily requisitions for supplies and food items for production. Reads and employs math skills to follow recipes. In charge in planning of menu Being prepared to work and be trained on any part of the pastry kitchen. Prepare pastries, baked goods and fresh deserts for the restaurant To take part in any daily briefings and take part in any meetings when required. To suggest alternative menu ideas, meet with service staff to ensure that the customer\xe2\x80\x99s requirements are met and wherever possible exceed their culinary expectations. Take a full role in the training, development and supervision of the Commis Pastry Chef. To create an environment which promotes employee morale and encourages a team to have pride in their working environment. Have a flexible response to business and client needs and to give full co-operation to a colleague requiring assistance in a prompt, caring and helpful manner. To comply with the statutory requirements for fire, health and safety, licensing and employment law, and to ensure that other team members are also aware of these requirements. Carry out any reasonable request set out by Head Chef, Pastry Chef or Sous Chef regarding pastry section preparation or general kitchen duties. Qualifications and Skills Diploma/Certified Chef De Partie (Pastry) Additional related training preferred. Minimum 1-2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a Chef De Partie (Pastry) Ability to analyze, forecast, and make judgments to ensure proper payroll and production control Ability to work in an environment with extreme temperature ranges (hot and cold) Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on continuous schedule. Ability to stand and to work continuously in confined spaces. Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges. Language Skills English \xe2\x80\x93 proficiency and written English Arabic \xe2\x80\x93 preferred Additional languages \xe2\x80\x93 preferred Note: Job description is not limited to the above.
