Pastry Chef - Bakery & Pastry (Dubai)
Location: Dubai, UAE
Department: Kitchen / Production
Reports to: Head Pastry Chef / Executive Chef
Job Purpose:
To create, produce, and present all bakery and pastry items to the highest possible standards, ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation. The Pastry Chef is responsible for the entire pastry section, from doughs and viennoiserie to plated desserts and artistic showpieces.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and produce all breads, pastries, cakes, desserts, and specialty items according to standardized recipes and specifications.
• Develop new and seasonal menu items in collaboration with the Head Chef.
• Manage daily production schedules, ensuring par levels are met and waste is minimized through effective forecasting.
• Maintain impeccable standards of food hygiene, safety, and sanitation (HACCP) in the pastry section.
• Control inventory, order supplies, and manage food costs within the allocated budget.
• Supervise and train Commis Pastry Chefs and apprentices, fostering a learning environment.
• Ensure all equipment in the pastry section is properly used, cleaned, and maintained.
• Present finished products in a visually stunning and appetizing manner.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Culinary diploma or apprenticeship with a specialization in Patisserie.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume bakery, hotel, or upscale cafe.
• Expert knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
• Creative flair and a passion for modern and classical pastry arts.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of Arabic is a plus, but not mandatory.
