PASTRY CHEF

Purpose of the Position:

To assist in the preparation, baking, and presentation of a variety of pastries and baked goods, ensuring high standards of quality, consistency, and hygiene. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for baking, creativity, and a desire to grow in a professional kitchen environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and baking of pastries, cakes, breads, and other baked goods according to established recipes and guidelines. Measure and mix ingredients accurately using proper techniques and kitchen equipment. Support senior pastry chefs in decorating and finishing desserts to meet presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry workstation, tools, and equipment at all times. Follow food safety and hygiene protocols during all stages of preparation and storage. Help with daily mise en place (preparation) to ensure readiness for service. Monitor baking times and oven temperatures to achieve desired results. Assist in inventory control by restocking ingredients and informing supervisors of low stock. Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, utensils, and baking equipment after use. Participate in tastings, product development, and training sessions as needed. Work collaboratively with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

Skills and Abilities:

Basic knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and pastry tools. Strong attention to detail, precision, and creativity in presentation. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. Willingness to learn and take constructive feedback. Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards. Punctuality, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude. Previous experience in a bakery, pastry shop, or commercial kitchen is a plus
