Job Description

Lecturer \xe2\x80\x93 Tourism & Hospitality Management Teaching and Learning
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons at all levels(Level 4 & 5 Diploma in Tourism & Hospitality
Management) appropriate to qualifications of OTHM in accordance with the agreed contract.
  • Plan, develop and deliver appropriate learning plans for individual students.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and review of policies and schemes of work.
  • Monitor and assess the achievement of students, and to record and report the development,progress and attainment of students in accordance with the institute assessment policies and in line with the principles of Assessment for Learning.
  • Make use of current technology (LMS) ,Moodle to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Be a tutor to an assigned group of students and to carry out the associated academic and pastoral responsibilities as required.
  • Implement the College\xe2\x80\x99s inclusion and equal opportunity policies.
  • Ensure that teaching assistants or other support staff and visiting speakers are used effectively in the learning environment
  • Maintain self-daily work report.
Mode of Teaching: classroom lectures/ online as & when required Administration
  • Implement the College assessment, recording and reporting procedures.
  • Keep an accurate register of attendance studentsin accordance with the institute\xe2\x80\x99s policy.
  • Participate in appropriate meetings with colleagues, parents and agencies for the benefit of the learners.
  • Participate in exhibitions/conventions/open days as required.
  • Liaise with employers and other outside agencies.
Key Criteria
  • A teaching qualification
  • Experience of delivery within British Curriculum/ OTHM / UK Qualification.
  • Professional qualifications in Health & Social Care and relevant industrial experience
  • Understanding and skills relevant to the specific responsibilities of the post including practical experience of the delivery and administration of the OTHM suite of qualifications, with teaching experience from level ,4,5,6,7(OTHM)
  • An understanding of teaching and learning strategies
  • Evidence of recent continuing professional development
  • Effective communication skills to a wide range of people (staff, parents, students, service users) and the ability to work as part of a team as & when required
  • Effective organizational, time management and administrative skills.
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative.
Desirable Criteria
  • Teaching and assessing experience at levels 4 and 5 & also relevant short courses related to the same field.
