Job Description



The primary responsibility of the Paralegal will be to provide support to the Legal & Compliance teams in GCC and Middle East clusters.

That includes without limitation:
  • Drafting (using pre-approved templates) and proofreading various types of documents.
  • Review terms and conditions of contracts and tender documents.
  • Apply checks on documents and on the Request of Signature.
  • Obtain signatures on the contracts from the legal signatories.
  • Draft required letters and communications and manage correspondence.
  • Provide support for assigned projects.
  • Ensure online archiving of the signed contracts, corporate documents, and other legal documents, as appropriate.
  • Manage integration of new office technologies and systems as appropriate.
  • Provide clear and pertinent advice to the organization on the contract management process from initiation to execution and guide as needed.
  • Assist in implementing changes to contracts to imbed global internal updates/guidance or to comply with legislations.
  • Draft/ review standard company resolutions and powers of attorney, monitor validation dates and renew or withdraw as required.
  • Review and maintain company corporate documents, such as licenses, trade register extracts and articles of association.
  • Complete UBO and KYC forms and submit them in a timely manner to the requesting authorities and third parties.
  • Provide administrative support in relation to litigation, mediation, arbitration and responses to complaints.
  • Manage external counsel billing and invoicing.
  • Review, track and monitor legislation that impacts the company\xe2\x80\x99s business.
  • Perform legal research and compile summary data from requested references.
  • Assist with paperwork needed by regulatory bodies, such as letters of authorization.
  • Support the organization and implementation of AGM and EGM meetings where needed through drafting/ reviewing required documents (invitations, agenda and minutes); getting documents signed and legalized; and ensuring submission to relevant authorities where needed.
  • Arrange the legalization of documents as necessary.
  • Undertake basic translations or arrange the same through service providers.
  • Populate and maintain all trackers used by the Legal & Compliance teams in both clusters.
  • Support the Legal and Compliance teams in GCC and Middle East clusters in undertaking a range of compliance tasks as assigned, such as collaborating with BPOs to monitor and implement compliance processes and formulate and implement business procedures consistent with applicable laws, regulations and company policies.
  • Raise POs and process invoices in a timely fashion.
  • Undertake any other tasks as required.
As a general guide, Paralegal is to dedicate approximately 60% of the working hours to the GCC cluster and 40% to the Middle East cluster. Actual time allocation between the clusters may vary from time to time and will depend on work requirements and shall be assessed and agreed to by the attorneys responsible for these clusters, in consultation with the Regional Managing Counsel, EEMEA, from time to time.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Language proficiency in Arabic, English and French.
  • More than 6 years with relevant experience in a similar paralegal position.
  • Working knowledge of the GCC region.
  • Ability to breakdown and understand queries and address them accordingly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Solid legal drafting skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Attention to detail, as well as organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to organize and coordinate multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work under pressure.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment.
  • Ability to deal with a broad range of people across all levels.
  • Proactive and responsive.
  • Practical approach with a \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude.
  • Willingness to take on ad-hoc projects and assignments, as required.

  • Proficient user of word and documents processing and organization applications.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency using virtual data rooms to upload and organize documents.
  • Ability to create and maintain filing systems.
  • Ability to raise purchase orders and to manage the financial lifecycle of such purchase orders.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Para-Legal certification or legal background.
  • Law firm or in-house legal experience with a multi-national company.
  • Legal research skills.
