Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Surface Preparation:

Inspect work areas and prepare surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and patching holes and cracks. Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats.

Painting & Finishing:

Mix and match paints to achieve desired colors and finishes. Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, or other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment..

Maintenance & Repairs:

Repaint and touch-up damaged or worn areas on walls, ceilings, doors, and fixtures..

Coordination & Reporting:

Coordinate with supervisors and other trades (e.g., carpenters, electricians) to ensure project efficiency. Report material needs, job progress, and any challenges to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in painting or surface finishing is preferred. 2-5 years of proven experience as a painter, preferably in a technical services, construction, or facilities management company. Knowledge of various painting techniques and surface materials (e.g., drywall, wood, metal, concrete). Familiarity with tools such as brushes, rollers, sprayers, and scaffolding. Understanding of color theory and paint mixing.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in both residential and commercial painting projects. Basic knowledge of wall repair, waterproofing, or surface treatment techniques. Good eye for detail and steady hand. Physical fitness and ability to work in various environmental conditions (indoors/outdoors).
