- Position Overview
- Team Leadership: Supervise a team of painters, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure optimal productivity and teamwork.
- Paint Application: Oversee the preparation and application of paint to various surfaces, ensuring proper techniques, coverage, and finish quality.
- Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that painted products meet established standards for appearance, color accuracy, and durability.
- Surface Preparation: Coordinate and oversee the preparation of surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, priming, and masking as required.
- Material Management: Monitor paint inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage and handling of paints, solvents, and related materials.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper maintenance and functioning of painting equipment, including spray guns, brushes, rollers, and booths. Schedule regular equipment inspections and maintenance.
- Color Matching: Work closely with designers, clients, or project managers to achieve accurate color matching and meet design specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by ensuring that all painting activities adhere to safety guidelines, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure that painting projects are scheduled, coordinated, and completed in alignment with overall project timelines.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of paint usage, color formulas, project progress, and any other relevant documentation.
- Problem Solving: Address any painting-related challenges promptly and effectively, working with your team and other departments to find solutions.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs for the painting team and provide ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Proven at least 10 years of experience as a Paint Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within a painting or finishing department.
- In-depth knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and paint types.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent understanding of color theory and color mixing.
- Familiarity with paint application equipment and tools, including spray guns, brushes, and rollers.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in painting and finishing.
- Proficiency in using painting-related software and tools.
- Relevant certifications in painting, finishing, or related areas is a plus.
