Position Overview:
The Outlet Supervisor is the operational heartbeat of our cafe. This leadership role is responsible for supporting the Cafe Manager in driving daily excellence across all areas of the business. You will lead by example, motivate the team, ensure impeccable standards of service and product quality, and contribute directly to the cafe's success and profitability. You are a problem-solver, a mentor, and a brand ambassador.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:

  • Act as a shift leader, delegating tasks effectively and ensuring the team is focused and productive.
  • Provide coaching, training, and constructive feedback to team members on service standards, product knowledge, and operational procedures.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team environment.
  • Assist in onboarding new hires and support their integration into the team.
  • Step up to assume management responsibilities in the Cafe Manager's absence.
Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee all daily opening and closing procedures, ensuring they are completed to the highest standard.
  • Manage inventory levels, place orders with suppliers, and conduct stock takes as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations (e.g., food hygiene, allergen awareness).
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal of the cafe, including seating areas and restrooms.
  • Proactively manage maintenance issues and report them promptly.
Customer Service & Sales:
  • Lead the team in delivering exceptional, friendly, and efficient customer service.
  • Resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally, turning challenging situations into positive outcomes.
  • Drive sales by promoting specials, new products, and loyalty programs.
  • Ensure consistent product quality for all food and beverage items served.
Financial Contribution:
  • Handle cash and card transactions accurately, manage the point-of-sale (POS) system, and ensure till reconciliation is completed correctly.
  • Minimize waste and loss by adhering to portion control and stock management guidelines.
  • Support the manager in meeting and exceeding sales targets and controlling operational costs.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a fast-paced cafe, coffee shop, or restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of coffee preparation (e.g., espresso machine operation) and food service.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic cash handling procedures.
  • A valid food safety certification is a strong advantage.
