Job Description

Position Overview: We are looking for skilled and passionate Beekeeper to join our team and manage our apiary operations. As the Beekeeper at Emirates Bio Farm, you will play a crucial role in maintaining healthy bee colonies, contributing to pollination efforts, producing premium-quality organic honey, and conducting educational workshops. Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain healthy bee colonies in accordance with organic beekeeping practices.
Monitor the health and behavior of bees, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
Conduct routine inspections of hives to ensure proper hive health, disease prevention, and pest control.
Handle hive maintenance tasks, such as adding/removing frames, feeding bees, and cleaning equipment.
Perform honey extraction and processing, adhering to hygiene and food safety standards.
Collaborate with the farm\'s agricultural team to support pollination efforts in the fields.
Keep accurate records of hive conditions, honey production, and bee population.
Identify and implement strategies to prevent and mitigate honeybee health challenges.
Educate staff, visitors, and workshop participants about the importance of honeybees and their role in ecosystems.
Stay informed about the latest developments in beekeeping techniques and technologies.

Requirements:

Previous experience (2+ years) as a beekeeper, preferably in an organic farming or sustainable environment.
Strong knowledge of honeybee biology, behavior, and hive management.
Familiarity with organic beekeeping practices and natural pest management.
Ability to handle bees confidently and safely, using proper protective equipment.
Experience in honey extraction and processing.
Strong observational skills to identify signs of disease or distress in bee colonies.
Excellent communication skills and a passion for educating others about honeybees.
Ability to plan, organize, and conduct educational workshops.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physically capable of lifting and moving hive components.
UAE driving license is a plus.
