Reporting to the Service Manager of Data Migration. The Data Migration Engineer will focus on three primary objectives: analyse the scope of each Cooperative Association requirements for data migration of all modules, design and document solid migration plans, and deliver migration services for solutions in healthcare imaging. To ensure a successful onboarding for new clients as they transition from previous Point of Sales (POS) Solution solutions to new customized Point of Sales (POS) Solution. This is the most important phase of the customer lifecycle, and the Data Migration Specialist is responsible for establishing the solid foundation that drives customers' future successes. Data Migration Specialist work in conjunction with other Projects Managers, developers, and oversee the data conversion of the onboarding process. Successful individuals in this position have an obsession for accuracy, a passion for helping others and a blend of technical and interpersonal skills. Key Roles & Responsibilities: Using various ETL tools to connect to the source and target (Oracle and MS SQL). Writing SQL scripts to query and alter the data. Writing code scripts to alter and format the data. Communicating effectively with internal and external partners throughout the conversion process. Creating, maintaining, and improving documentation. 10+ Years of experience in data warehousing projects.
10+ experience in Oracle and SQL databases. Expert in Oracle PL/SQL AND T-SQL Languages.
Strong database concepts with expertise on SQL tuning. At least 10 years of experience performing data migration efforts including analysis, cleansing, conversion, verification, and validation to ensure data quality and consistency. At least five (5) years of experience overseeing data cleansing and validation portions of the entire System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure data quality and timely defect resolution(s). Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to understand business requirements and translate into technical design.
Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and document the root cause of issues, and effectively communicate possible resolutions.
Effective communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
Can work independently effectively. Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science/engineering with Data Migration certification Comprehensive, strong, and current knowledge of Oracle Financial Cloud Solutions and POS Solution. Prior experience in working with Point of Sales (POS) Solutions is a PLUS. Proven track of building teams and strong mentoring abilities. Work experience in similar industry preferred. Detail oriented, proactive, and able to respond to requests effectively and efficiently. Excellent written and verbal communication. Critical thinking and detailed oriented.
