Role Overview:
The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Dubai office. This includes everything from logistics to process improvement, managing staff, and ensuring the smooth flow of operations across departments. The ideal candidate will work closely with other teams to ensure efficiency and maintain high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and develop the local Dubai office operations (15%)
Lead and mentor junior staff (15%)
Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth office operations (10%)
Monitor and optimize operational costs (10%)
Oversee diamond collection and order fulfillment with local suppliers (5%)
Negotiate with vendors when required (5%)
Perform quality control on incoming and outgoing diamonds (5%)
Handle all administrative tasks for the office (5%)
Collaborate with the Senior Operations Manager to plan and execute short- and long-term goals (5%)
Implement and continuously improve operational procedures (5%)
Manage international logistics (4%)
Including relevant filings on government portals for import and export
Strengthen relationships with suppliers and customers, focusing on trust and efficiency (4%)
Support Customer Service with shipping and delivery queries (2%)
Work closely with the Finance and Legal teams (3%)
Support the Supply and Buy-Side teams in expanding local business (2%)
Serve as the local AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Officer (1%)
Required Skills & Experience:
3+ years of experience in international shipping
3+ years in the diamond industry
Knowledge of Dubai Customs, VAT related processes
Excellent communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Proven track record of handling valuable goods
High integrity, professionalism, and honesty
Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing environment
