The Operations Manager ensures the smooth and efficient running of all non-academic functions of the British school, including campus facilities, transport, security, health & safety compliance, vendor management, and event logistics. The role is responsible for maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-organised environment that supports effective teaching and learning, aligns with KHDA and UAE regulations, and upholds the operational standards expected in a British curriculum school in Dubai.
Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day non-academic operations of the school, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant functioning of the campus.
Manage facilities, maintenance, cleaning, security and support staff to maintain a high standard of readiness at all times.
Ensure compliance with KHDA, DHA, Civil Defence, RTA and internal HSE policies, including documentation, inspections and audits.
Lead emergency preparedness, fire drills, first aid readiness, accident reporting and campus risk assessments.
Oversee student transport operations in line with RTA and safeguarding protocols, including driver and bus attendant supervision.
Coordinate procurement, vendor contracts, AMC renewals, and service-level agreements with cost control and quality checks.
Plan and execute operational logistics for school events, inspections, examinations, trips, parent engagement days and community programmes.
Collaborate with Academic, Admissions, HR, Finance and IT teams to ensure integrated and timely operational support.
Lead, schedule, train and evaluate support staff teams with clear KPIs and performance monitoring.
Act as an escalation and response point for operational emergencies, parent concerns related to facilities or safety, and stakeholder coordination.

Operational Leadership
-- Ability to independently run end-to-end school operations with planning, prioritisation and timely execution.
Regulatory Knowledge
-- Familiarity with KHDA, Civil Defence, DHA, RTA and UAE compliance specific to school environments.
Health & Safety Awareness
-- Strong understanding of risk assessments, school safeguarding, emergency procedures and student safety norms.
Vendor & Contract Management
-- Skilled in sourcing, negotiating, evaluating and renewing AMC/service contracts with cost efficiency.
People Management
-- Experience leading support staff (security, housekeeping, transport, technicians) with clear delegation and KPIs.
Communication & Coordination
-- Strong written and verbal English; able to work collaboratively with SLT, parents, staff and external agencies.
Problem Solving & Crisis Handling
-- Ability to respond calmly and effectively to incidents, escalations, last-minute changes and inspections.
Analytical & Reporting Ability
-- Competent in maintaining logs, checklists, compliance records, budgets and operational dashboards.
IT & Systems Literacy
-- Comfortable using MS Office, procurement systems, transport trackers and campus management tools
