We are looking for a skilled Omani Sweets Chef to prepare high-quality traditional Omani desserts and pastries for our restaurants and cafes. You will ensure authentic taste, consistent quality, and attractive presentation, while managing the pastry team and maintaining kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare traditional Omani sweets such as Halwa, dates-based desserts, and other local specialties.
Develop and improve dessert recipes while maintaining authentic Omani flavors.
Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
Manage inventory of ingredients and ensure proper storage.
Supervise and train junior pastry staff.
Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and follow food safety regulations.
Monitor portion sizes and minimize waste.
Plan production schedules to meet service demands.
Collaborate with head chef and other kitchen staff on menu planning and seasonal offerings.
Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Sweets Chef, preferably with experience in Omani desserts.
Expertise in preparing traditional Omani sweets.
Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, safety, and food handling standards.
Ability to manage a small team and train junior staff.
Creativity and attention to detail in taste and presentation.
Good communication skills.
Omani nationality preferred.
Skills:
Strong baking and confectionery skills, especially in traditional Omani desserts.
Time management and organization.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of modern and traditional dessert techniques.
