Job Description

We are recruiting an O&M Specialist for a future opportunity commencing Q1 2026. This is a hands-on operational role within Yellow Door Energy's Operations & Maintenance team, focused on ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of distributed solar PV assets.
The role involves executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities, supporting plant performance monitoring, and working closely with site managers, engineering teams, HSE, and external contractors to minimise downtime and maximise asset availability.
This position is suited to someone comfortable working both on-site and in an office environment, with strong technical fundamentals, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities across solar PV plants and associated balance-of-plant systems.
Perform routine site inspections, fault-finding, and troubleshooting to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate and supervise EPCs, service providers, and subcontractors during O&M activities to ensure work is delivered safely, to specification, and on time.
Support plant performance monitoring by reviewing SCADA, inverter, and metering data, contributing to availability, yield, and KPI reporting.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and technical documentation, including spare parts tracking and inventory records.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures and support incident reporting and corrective actions where required.
Assist with continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving plant reliability, performance, and O&M efficiency.
Provide technical support during commissioning, handover, warranty, and asset lifecycle activities as required.
Support internal reporting on plant performance and operational events (weekly/monthly).

Execute scheduled maintenance and emergency response activities to maintain asset availability.
Support reduction in downtime through timely fault resolution and preventive maintenance.
Technical Performance & Reporting
Assist with performance analysis and reporting, identifying trends or issues requiring action.
Support root cause analysis and input into OEM or supplier discussions where needed.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure site activities comply with YDE HSE standards, legal requirements, and best practices.
Promote safe working practices across sites and contractors.
Requirements
Essential
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical, Electrotechnical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 3 years' experience in O&M of solar PV or electrical systems (PV experience strongly preferred).
Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault diagnostics, and PV systems.
Experience working with SCADA systems and interpreting technical drawings (SLDs, layouts).
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with CMMS or PM tools is an advantage.
Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
Preferred
LV/MV certification or relevant trade qualifications.
Experience supervising contractors and managing spare parts.
Familiarity with IEC standards, grid requirements, and international HSE practices.
GCC experience and exposure to multinational environments.
