Job Description

:

• Undertaking patient assessments of physical, communication, interaction, and cognitive skills
• Meets the patient's goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results, determining occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
• Developing a rehabilitation programme to help rebuild lost skills and restore lost confidence.
• Advising on home and workplace environmental alterations, such as adjustments for wheelchair access.
• Teaching anxiety management techniques.
• Mentoring people on how to control their own behaviour; liaising with other professionals, such as Doctors, physiotherapists, equipment suppliers and architects, giving advice and arranging support for family members, careers and clients.
• Writing reports and attending multidisciplinary case meetings to plan and review ongoing treatment.
• Organizing support and rehabilitation groups for careers and clients.
• Managing a caseload, prioritizing needs, and completing administrative tasks such as patient and budgetary records
• Planning and providing appropriate treatment/graded activities
• Planning further treatment and reviewing progress
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Develops occupational therapy staff by providing information, developing, and conducting in-service training programs

Qualifications / Experience:

• Bachelor degree or Diploma from an accredited institution in Occupational Therapy minimum of three (3) years of course.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in similar role.
• DOH / DHA licence as an Occupational Therapist.
• Current CPR (validated within the last 24 months)
• Proficiency in English, Arabic will be an added advantage.
