Project based in Syria (deployment in Aleppo, Idlib, and Damascus areas). Work will be primarily site-based inside Syria. Field sites across Syria (rotational coverage)
Responsibilities
Implement and monitor the project's
Occupational Health and Safety Management Plan
.
Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks.
Verify contractors' compliance with PPE, safe-work procedures, and emergency response plans.
Lead incident investigations and maintain accident/near-miss registers.
Deliver OHS training to site personnel and subcontractors.
Report safety statistics and trends to the HSE Manager and Project Director.
Qualifications (RFP requirements)
Bachelor's degree in
Engineering, Environmental Science, or Occupational Health and Safety
.
8 - 10 years
of OHS experience on major infrastructure or power projects.
Certified in
NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent
.
Thorough knowledge of
World Bank EHS Guidelines
and local labor regulations.
Strong communication and record-keeping skills; Arabic required, English desirable.
