The team consists of 24 full time physicians and 5 visiting physicians, and is one of the busiest and biggest departments here. We have more than 300 delivers a month.
We are looking for a consultant for this role with minimally invasive surgery skills.

?1.
Education: Board certified or MD in Ob/Gyn as minimum
?
?2.
Duration and type of Experience: Experience of 3 years after Board preferred
Job Functions and Key Accountability's:

This may not include all of the duties assigned
?The Consultant will help the general practitioner and specialist in the management of inpatient and outpatients as indicated by the clinical situation during calls and in the clinic and operating room.
1.
Outpatient Clinics:
?
1.1. The OB/GYN provides prenatal and postnatal care; obtains complete medical, family and obstetrical history and physical data on OB patients and reviews patient records. Does normal GYN care and preventative medicine
?1.2. Treats diseases and injuries of female reproductive system
?1.3. Preparing and reviewing case histories and obtaining data through interviews.
?1.4. Performs an obstetrical exam including limited ultra sound and records findings. Assesses patients and prepares a plan of care.
?1.5. Orders, evaluates and reviews appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.
?1.6. Performs diagnostic procedures as required.
?1.7. Sees walk in patients and UCC referrals.
?1.8. Appropriate Documentation.
2.
Inpatient Ward:
?
?2.1. Rounds in the ward on assigned shifts as applicable. Maintains and updates SBAR handover sheet.
?2.2. Appropriate documentation.
3.
Operating Room:
?
?3.1. Directs nurses in procedures for preoperative and postoperative care such as administering sedatives, prescribing diets, and preparing operative area of patients.
?3.2. Performs appropriate surgical procedures as privileged and treats patients with postoperative complications.
4.
Labour and Delivery:
?
?4.1. Supervises the nurses, midwives, and specialist/GP as required
?4.2. Performs normal and instrumental deliveries in maternity cases. OB emergencies, treatment of intrauterine fetal demise, incomplete spontaneous abortion, missed abortion, treatment of pregnancy complications.
?4.3. Evaluate and prepare the patient for Cesarean section and perform or assist the surgery.

Outside clinic:
?
?5.1. You may be asked to participate in satellite clinics
?5.2. Participate in partner clinic4.
?5.3. Assist or consult with outside physicians working at Kanad Hospital
