Job Overview
The O&M Lead - Solar will take full responsibility for managing day-to-day operations, preventive maintenance, performance monitoring, and vendor coordination for solar assets. This includes leading field teams through subcontractors, deploying predictive maintenance strategies, and maximizing generation efficiency across multiple rooftop solar plants.
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee operations and maintenance of rooftop solar PV systems across various client sites
• Implement standardized O&M procedures to ensure optimal energy output and system reliability
• Monitor key KPIs such as performance ratio (PR), availability, and downtime trends
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians through on-site and remote coordination
• Analyze plant performance data to identify issues and implement corrective actions
• Manage third-party contractors, OEMs, and vendors to ensure timely support and quality service
• Handle all aspects of warranty, spare part procurement, and service contract compliance
• Ensure all health, safety, and environmental policies are strictly followed across sites
• Monitor energy generation daily and take proactive steps to boost output when below expected levels
• Increase plant performance via dust-level analysis and optimized cleaning schedules
• Generate monthly and quarterly performance reports for internal and client review
• Ensure timely invoicing for O&M services and cost tracking against budget

Job Requirements
Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Engineering
• Advanced degrees (MBA or M.Tech) are preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 8-12 years of experience in the solar energy sector, with at least 5 years in O&M leadership
• Proven success in managing O&M for rooftop solar installations in commercial and industrial settings

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of PV system components (inverters, monitoring tools, string combiner boxes)
• Familiar with DEWA and UAE grid codes and compliance requirements
• Proficient in energy management systems and predictive maintenance software

Certifications & Licenses:

• DEWA Solar Engineer Certificate, DM Engineer Certificate, and Society of Engineers UAE registration preferred
• Valid UAE driving license required

Soft Skills:

• Strong leadership, team management, and vendor negotiation capabilities
• Analytical mindset with attention to operational details and reporting accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multi-site projects simultaneously
