Job Description

Job Summary:
A nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assisting physicians, administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring a safe and supportive healthcare environment. Nurses work in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other healthcare settings, delivering compassionate care to patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care & Assessment:

• Conduct initial patient assessments and record medical histories.
• Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration).
• Observe and document changes in patients' conditions.
• Assist in diagnostic tests and analyze results.

2. Medication & Treatment Administration:

• Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
• Dress wounds, assist in minor surgical procedures, and provide post-operative care.
• Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases.

3. Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with doctors, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records (electronic or paper-based).

4. Emergency & Critical Care (if applicable):

• Respond to medical emergencies (e.g., cardiac arrest, trauma).
• Operate life-support equipment (e.g., ventilators, defibrillators).
• Provide emotional support to patients and families in distress.

5. Compliance & Safety:

• Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, and legal regulations.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for patients.
• Adhere to ethical guidelines and patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
