The Nursery Registrar is responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the admissions and registration process for the nursery. This role ensures a smooth, efficient, and welcoming experience for prospective parents and children, while maintaining accurate records, compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the nursery's enrollment targets. The Registrar serves as the key point of contact for inquiries, tours, and enrollment procedures, working closely with the nursery leadership and administrative teams.
Key Responsibilities of a Nursery Registrar
Admissions & Enrollment
Serve as the first point of contact for all prospective parents and families
Provide detailed information about the nursery's philosophy, highscope approach, facilities, fees and schedules.
Organise and conduct parent tours and open days.
Manage the entire admissions process from initial inquiry to enrollment confirmation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date waiting list, enquiry logs, and admission reports.
Records & Compliance
Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential records for all children and families.
Ensure compliance with relevant authorities (e.g. Ofsted/ ADEK/ Local regulations)
Support with audits, inspections, and statutory returns.
Update medical, attendance and emergency contact information if needed.
Parent Communication
Build warm, professional relationships with current and prospective parents.
Respond promptly to all enquiries via phone, email, or in person.
Distribute welcome packs, newsletter, and relevant notices.
Support parents with transitions into and out of the nursery.
Skills & Personal Attributes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with parents and staff.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in administrative software (Microsoft Office, Nursery Management systems etc.)
Discreet and professional with confidential information
Knowledge of the early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or Highscope curriculum is an advantage.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's in business Administration, Education, or related field.
Previous experience in school or nursery administration preferred.
Familiarity with early years settings and regulations (UK or UAE context).
Strong written and spoken Englis: additional language beneficial.
