Assist the dentist during various clinical procedures, including examinations, fillings, extractions, and other treatments.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
Ensure the dental surgery is prepared for each patient, including setting up trays and ensuring cleanliness.
Take responsibility for accurate record keeping, including updating patient records and treatment notes.
Support patients before, during, and after dental procedures to ensure comfort and understanding.
Take and process dental radiographs (X-rays), if qualified.
Manage stock and supplies within the surgery, ensuring adequate levels and correct storage.
Follow strict cross-infection control procedures.
Provide oral health advice and postoperative care instructions as directed by the dentist.
Assist with reception duties when necessary, such as booking appointments and handling patient queries.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing or equivalent recognized qualification.
Registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) -

Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Commitment to patient care and confidentiality.
Ability to work well in a team and under the supervision of a dentist.
