Key Responsibilities: Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including their physical, emotional, and social needs. Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and changes in condition. Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring accurate dosage and adherence to established protocols. Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members. Adjust plans as necessary based on patient progress. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care techniques. Promote health and wellness through preventive measures. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, care plans, and progress notes. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and colleagues. Relay important information to physicians and other healthcare providers as needed. Technical Skills: Operate medical equipment, such as ventilators, IV pumps, and cardiac monitors. Perform various medical procedures, including wound care, IV insertion, and blood draws. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and preferences of patients. Ensure their needs are met and concerns addressed. Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including doctors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive patient care. Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies, assess critical situations, and initiate appropriate interventions. Infection Control: Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections within healthcare settings.
