Responsibilities of a Nurse (DOH) in LASER Procedures
If a nurse is involved in
laser treatments
or works in aDOH facility using LASER technology
, their responsibilities might include:1.
Pre-Procedure Responsibilities
Patient assessment:
Evaluate the patient's medical history and skin condition.Informed consent:
Ensure patients understand the procedure, risks, and post-care instructions.Preparation of equipment:
Check and calibrate laser machines; ensure safety protocols are in place.Safety checks:
Confirm all protective gear (e.g. goggles for both patient and staff) is ready.2.
During the Procedure
Assisting the physician or laser technician:
Hand instruments, monitor patient condition.Monitoring patient reactions:
Look out for signs of distress, pain, or complications.Maintaining sterile field:
Prevent infection and contamination.3.
Post-Procedure Responsibilities
Wound care and instructions:
