Job Description

Imperium Commodity Search are working with a family-owned metals & minerals trading company headquartered in Switzerland, currently looking for experienced traders with physical books to join their expanding teams in Dubai, South Africa & Switzerland and to grow their presence within the global metals & mining space - the ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of / experience in both physical and derivative markets of non-ferrous metals, chrome, manganese or concentrates.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for building a profitable book trading non-ferrous metals (lead, zinc, nickel, tin, aluminium, copper etc.) sourcing and selling B2B.
• Focus on building relationships with customers and end users to support increasing the company's market share in target markets
• Stay informed of changes and trends in the base metals markets in order to identify new business opportunities and mitigate risk
• Work closely with operations and logistics teams to ensure a timely and smooth supply chain
• Prospecting for clients and business development (cold calling, qualifying, building the pipeline of deal)
• Monitoring and analyzing market performance internationally and communicating it to customers
• Networking to attract new clients, to build and maintain relationships with existing customers

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of experience trading non-ferrous metals (aluminium, copper, nickel, lead, zinc, tin, etc.) with a track record of success / positive PnL.
• Ideal experience is in non-ferrous metals, chrome, manganese ores or concentrates - must have an existing portfolio / network
• Degree in Business, Commodity Trading or other relevant topic is preferred
• Confident, adaptable, builds relationships easily and interacts well under pressure
• Technical understanding of derivatives and financial derivatives (futures, options, swaps) is a plus
• Fluency in English; fluency in other European languages / Mandarin will be an added advantage
