JOB PURPOSE

To lead the nomination tasks such as inter department coordination, management of assessors/judges and liaise with other private offices on Abu Dhabi by implementing regulations and policies of Sheikh Zayed Book Award Unit in-line with the overall Dar Al Kuteb sector and TCA strategy.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key Accountabilities

Nomination Operations

Organise and manage complete nomination cycle from participation acceptance and participation file/document preparation.

Liaise with the assessors such as Board of Trustees and a Scientific Committee.

Coordinate with the Scientific Committee in appointing a group of distinguished regional and international literary figures as judges who serve on nine separate selection committees, one for each award category.

Coordinate with the judges of each category and maintain the anonymity of judges to safeguard the independence and integrity of the selection process.

Ensure that the winners of the event are announced ahead of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, culminating in a prestigious ceremony every year in March.

Liaise with the department team and department leadership to ensure smooth process flow, compliance with respective award body guidelines and TCA's protocol.

Policies, Processes and Procedures

Follow all Sheikh Zayed Book Award department policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner

Collaboration

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to Nomination area in order to facilitate flow of information and also to build awareness in those areas.

Day-to-Day Operations

Follow the day-to-day operations set by the Line Manager in the Sheikh Zayed Book Award section to ensure continuity of work and the delivery of effective and high quality outputs.

Report on a regular basis to Sheikh Zayed Book Award Unit Head on operational activities, challenges, hurdles and methods of resolution or mitigation etc. as required to keep the Line Manager informed and updated about the unit's activities.

EHS (Environment, Health and Safety)

Comply with all relevant EHS guidelines, policies and procedures, by reporting incidents and hazards on a timely manner, and reduce consumption of natural resources to support in protecting the environment and ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

Change Management

Support the creation of culture susceptible to change management through a 'hands-on' and 'can-do' approach to TCA's new business opportunities, participating in the development of new initiatives, meeting planned targets, and demonstrating preferred high-performance behaviours.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES

Qualification (e.g. Academic Qualification, Certifications, Licenses)

Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Arts or equivalent.

Master's degree in Library Science, Arts, or equivalent preferred.

Experience

Bachelor Degree Holders: 4 to 6 years of experience in Nominations or managing awards OR

Post Graduate Holders: 2 to 4 years of experience in Library/Arts/Heritage field.
