and Qualifications
Air Products has entered into an agreement with ACWA Power and NEOM (all 3 have equal ownership) for the development of a $5bl green hydrogen-based ammonia production facility sited in NEOM. This is based on renewable energy principles and the project will integrate over four gigawatts of renewable solar, wind and storage power. It will produce green ammonia for export to global markets. The project is scheduled to be onstream in 2025.

POSITION SUMMARY
Site civil inspector will conduct site inspection on a temporary basis. Must have intensive experience on early work, site preparation, soil improvement and piling work.

NATURE & SCOPE
The main functions of this position are:
  • Review civil and structural construction Inspection and test plans (ITPs) and
  • Review civil and structural construction quality procedures and method statements.
  • Perform civil/structural inspections and material receiving, handling and storage inspections and log findings and observations. Field checks placement, location and quality of civil/structural early work, site preparation, soil improvement, piling, finishes, building structure components
  • Conduct site surveillances and non-announced site visits to ensure full compliance with the project quality plan and specifications and log findings and observations using proper quality tools.
  • Monitor and review of the EPC contractor’s documents/shop drawings to flag and rectify any issues which may affect the stability or function of any components or systems.
  • Prepare daily quality logs and reports.
  • Monitor and ensure that all civil/structural engineering aspects of the project are carried out as per inspection plan/drawings/codes and specifications.
  • Monitor safety aspects when dealing with Civil/structural installations.
  • Perform and/or evaluate civil tests confirming quality requirements, civil/structural finishes and building components by conducting thorough site inspection for all civil/structural works as per approved shop drawings, specifications and method statement.
  • Evaluate and monitor concrete batch plants, third party testing agencies and pre-cast yards.
  • Support Quality lead to evaluate and conduct quality manpower interviews.
  • Initiate non-conformance reports, corrective action reports (if deemed necessary).
  • Monitor and verify EPC CONTRACTOR and sub-contractors non-conformance reports are being properly addressed and rectified in a timely manner.
  • Perform tasks related to quality assurance as the line manager may deem necessary to be carried out.

MINIMUM YEARS EXPERIENCE IN SIMILAR JOB ROLE
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience as Project QA/QC civil inspector.

SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS:
  • Experience with early work, site preparation, soil improvement and piling work.
  • Solid knowledge of construction including materials, methods, plans, specifications and international standards.
