Job Description

The Network and Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our network infrastructure and security measures within a hybrid IT environment. The role requires experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and familiarity with Fortigate and Sophos products. You will work to ensure the security, reliability, and efficiency of our network and cloud resources while supporting ongoing security initiatives and responding to incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

Hybrid Network Design and Management: Design and manage network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. Implement and configure hybrid networking solutions, including VPNs and network integration between on-premises and cloud resources. Monitor and optimize network performance across hybrid environments to ensure seamless connectivity and reliability. Cloud Security and Management: Implement and manage security measures for cloud resources, particularly on Microsoft Azure. Develop and enforce cloud security policies, including identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, and compliance controls. Monitor and analyze cloud security events using Azure security tools and other monitoring solutions. Security Implementation and Management: Configure and manage Fortigate and Sophos security appliances, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and anti-malware solutions. Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses. Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing detailed analysis and remediation. Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Implement and maintain best practices for network and cloud security. Develop and enforce security policies, including access controls, data protection, and secure network architecture. Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor network traffic, security events, and cloud activity using network monitoring and security information and event management (SIEM) tools. Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and compliance status. Provide recommendations for improvements based on monitoring and analysis. Support and Documentation: Provide technical support for network and security-related issues to internal teams and end-users. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, security policies, and incident reports. Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in network and security.
