At our Dubai MRO Centre located in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), we are specialists in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft systems. As part of our planned continued expansion, we require experienced individuals who will contribute to our success, whilst upholding our reputation as a leading provider of quality MRO services with customers. An opportunity has arisen for an NDT Level 2 Technician within our Dubai Landing Gear Team in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai. This site is part of Interiors, Services & Support, a global business unit of Collins Aerospace. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a diverse team. Purpose / Objective:
  • To perform standard NDT tasks to ensure customer delivery dates and contractual requirements are met with specified levels of quality.
  • Provide technical support in the investigation, repair and overhaul of A380 Landing gear and other components, while maintaining the highest Quality and EHS standards.
  • Develop systems and processes which establish and maximize flow within the business unit.
  • Work with all levels of management, personnel and internal customers.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Conduct system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standards.
  • Perform inspections to identify structural and material defects, evaluate and interpret results using NDT methods in level of certification held.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection for all NDT processes.
  • Maintain trainings and skills to current industry standards and remain proficient with recertification requirements of qualified disciplines.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique or method.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with turnaround time requirements. Complete job assignments in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities across the cell and apply Lean and CORE principles.
  • Perform shop audits as scheduled.
  • Perform shop area cleaning and maintenance as required.
  • Adhere to shop rules, safety requirements, and regulations.
  • Acquire necessary EHS competencies in accordance with EHS policy.
  • Ad hoc tasks, as required or as assigned.
Quality/CORE
  • Reduce COPQ to yearly target and ensure compliance to all quality audits.
  • Effectively respond to all CARs in timely fashion.
  • Achieve CORE objectives.
  • Deliver defect free products, zero QA escapes.
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements.
Customer Focus
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Assist in meeting TAT and labor hour targets.
  • Assist in achieving 95% on time delivery of all products.
  • Work with Operations and engineering to develop and implement customer and engineering solutions, while improving customer satisfaction (MFA).
Environmental Health & Safety
  • Demonstrate knowledge of EHS risks and impacts of work activities and the benefits of improving EHS performance.
  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the EHS policy and management system, understanding the importance of conforming to EHS policies and procedures, and demonstrating an understanding of the consequences of failing to comply with EHS policies and procedures
  • Support improvements to eliminate or reduce workplace risks.
  • Immediately reporting & responding as appropriate to any hazardous condition.
Technical
  • Use of precision measuring equipment and Visual/dimensional inspection techniques
  • Inspection, repair and overhaul of aircraft landing gear components
  • Support investigations and technical queries from Customer.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM) and other repair manuals and technical data.
  • Diagnose test rig breakdowns
Experience / Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Possess a current EN4179 / NAS410 or PCN (ISO9712), Level II NDT Certification in Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI)
  • Aerospace industry experience, minimum 2 years.
  • Diploma/ degree in aircraft maintenance engineering is preferable
  • Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, conduct material tests, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
  • Be capable of developing work instructions from approved codes, procedures, standards and NTM manuals.
  • Must be fluent in English and have the ability to evaluate his/her work and write descriptive statements about noted conditions while performing inspections.
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
  • Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and / or supervision to trainees.
  • Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
  • Ability to work flexible shift hours and a willingness to assist other overhaul processes and departments as necessary.
