Naval Engineer, Weapon, Electronic Sensor & Command Systems Salary: Competitive Grade: GG12 Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. This role is responsible to the Departmental Director, for the management and coordination of all Al Jawf Class, Mine Hunter, Weapon, Electronic Sensor & Command System issues. Provide expertise to the RSNF in areas of Weapon, Electronic Sensor & Command Systems Engineering ship design, modification and engineering changes. Conduct in depth engineering analysis of defects/deficiencies. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Assess all proposed Engineering Changes, Modifications, Technical Instructions and related acceptance activities associated with the Weapon, Electronic Sensor & Command Systems, on-board the Al Jawf Class and its shore side supporting facilities, including the Specialised Shore Side Workshops and the Land and Sea Magnetic & Acoustic Ranges. Conduct in depth analysis of on-board systems, equipment failures or deficiencies to determine cause and make recommendations for corrective measures, modification to maintenance routines or changes in operating procedures. Responsible for the production of RSNF Requirements and Specifications for future modifications, review and propose amendments to the subsequent Work Package from the contractor. Provide advice regarding Munitions Explosives Safety and Qualification processes and ensure the relevant projects apply the appropriate standards. Oversee acceptance and commissioning of equipment / systems as required. Compile Engineering Briefs for RSNF Officers. Lead level 3 Technical Meetings and contribute to level 2 Technical Meetings as a SME. Attend other meetings and liaise with other Directorates of the RSNF, as required. Comply with all RSNF directives safety procedures and maintain confidentiality of RSNF and Hunter Project data at all times. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential Educated to degree level in Engineering or an equivalent professional Engineering qualification. In depth knowledge of Weapon, Electronic Sensor & Command Systems. Mine Hunter Engineering experience. Experience in various stages of the Engineering Design process and equipment Life Cycle Management. Knowledge of Munitions Explosives Safety and Qualification processes. Experience of Engineering Safety and Workplace Health & Safety. Desirable Knowledge of Single Role Mine Hunter operations.
