This position is eligible for remote employment, it will exclude the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Hawaii, Mississippi, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

The National Account Manager is responsible for driving sales of Macmillan Learning content and digital solutions at career colleges and for-profit institutions. They are responsible for initiating daily in person and virtual sales calls with appropriate administrators, technology staff and faculty, developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, conducting sales presentations, supporting customers pre and post-sale, coordinating responses to RFPs and negotiating contracts. The position also involves training and supporting customers post-sale and providing valuable feedback to marketing and editorial teams. The National Account Manager is expected to travel as needed, including regular on-site visits, regional and national conferences, as well as various training, marketing, and sales events.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Activity * Increase sales of Macmillan Learning products in assigned territory by delivering sales presentations, campus visits, attending conferences and executing high impact events.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts and existing customers and increase revenue associated with existing customers.
  • Network with decision makers at key accounts, including Procurement, Instructional Designers, Directors of Academic Programs and Digital Technology Executives.
  • Work collaboratively with internal partners and coordinate resources for sales and support activities.
  • Facilitate completion of RFIs, RFPs, contracts and contract renewals.
  • Update and maintain sales data and activity in CRM system.
Technology Training and Support * Provide technology training to customers; collaborate with internal resources for customer training and support, as needed.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions.
Feedback and Market Intelligence * Submit regular and timely Trip Reports.
  • Maintain and develop competitive knowledge and market awareness.
  • Understand purchase and billing methods of key accounts and coordinate with Finance.
Experience Required: * College Degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of publishing sales experience in education markets.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal partners and resources.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Technical proficiency.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Valid Drivers license required.
