Multimedia & digital Channels Lead, Middle East & Africa

This role will be responsible for developing and delivering multimedia channel content to support both internal communications and social media content plans. S/He will be part of the North Africa Region Communication & External Affairs (C&EA) team and will report to the Head of C&EA North Africa. S/he will utilize digital communications to ensure the relevant channel mix is being used to build employee engagement and commitment to the strategic priorities. S/he will work in close alignment with External Communications team to manage social media platform(s). The role supports the business’ determination to make news and information available in a crisp and simple manner to members across the region in creative form via various channels – including, but not exclusively, print, social media, intranet, videos etc.
In this role you will:
  • Manage digital channels including, ownership of the North Africa intranet, Kaltura (which is used for video archiving) and Yammer
  • Ensure that you are continuously aware of the business updates/events and that content on channels is constantly kept up to date and relevant and in line with the channel strategy
  • Monitor existing digital channels for hot news and report to Internal Communications Manager
  • Develop creative written content to be used for communication channels and material
  • Work with C&EA team under the supervision of Internal Communications Manager to develop the digital channels’ tone of voice
  • Advise C&EA team members to enable them to deliver their projects in creative ways
  • Identify the right channels, for the right audience and ensure consistency of message across all our chosen channels
  • Establish and manage a digital library of all photos and videos including historical library
  • Create and deliver digital newsletters reflecting new updates/stories
  • Create and co-ordinate the production and approval of comms content
  • Co-ordinate and deliver effective internal measurement systems to show the success of our channel strategy (monthly reporting)
  • Utilize digital platforms and software in line with Group requirements to create communications like Dotmailer
  • Use photography/videography to document functional/business activities/events as needed
  • Create engaging video content to serve in delivering business messages and enhance colleagues’ understanding
  • Work with HR and IT&S to ensure that internal distribution lists, directories etc. are relevant and up-to-date so that internal messages are properly targeted to ensure that internal distribution lists, directories etc. are relevant and up-to-date so that internal messages are properly targeted
  • Ensure that all activities undertaken within area of responsibility are compliant with the bp Communications Policy and Procedures
  • Work with the External Communications Manager to create content and promote on digital channels and social media channels where possible
  • Work with Modernization & Transformation (M+T) Lead to create the engaging M+T communications and promote success
  • Support cross functional teams in designing content to serve conveying business messages
  • Ensure all artwork is compliant with bp branding guidelines and all content is published in accordance with the Comms Policy and local procedures
What You will need to be successful:
  • Proficient in written and spoken English and Arabic language
  • Proficient user of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign
  • Able to use camera for photography
  • Understands how to shoot and edit videos
  • Animation work skills would be a plus
  • 3 to 5 years of working experience
  • General requirements: creative, cooperative, flexible, self-driven
  • Can work under tight deadlines
