Job Description

The MS Dynamics NAV LS Retail Engineer serves as a critical member of the IT and ERP team, combining deep technical expertise with functional consulting proficiency. With strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics NAV (including LS Retail), SQL database management, and retail systems, he plays a key role in supporting, customizing, and enhancing ERP functionality across departments. This role also includes responsibilities for management reporting and tracking IT KPIs, reinforcing the department's focus on data-driven performance and service excellence.

Dynamics NAV / LS Retail Engineering

Develop, customize, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central, including the LS Retail module.

Integrate NAV with POS systems and relevant third-party applications. Troubleshoot and resolve NAV/LS Retail bugs, system errors, and performance issues. Maintain and enhance LS Retail customizations within NAV/Business Central. Participate in the full project lifecycle: requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and support. Collaborate closely with retail, operations, and IT teams to optimize system workflows and ensure operational continuity.

Functional Consulting

Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical specifications and functional configurations.

Configure core NAV modules including finance, sales, purchasing, inventory, and retail. Deliver user training, develop process documentation, and provide continuous post-deployment support. Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to drive ERP process improvements.

SQL Database Management

Administer SQL Server databases supporting NAV and LS Retail environments.

Ensure database performance, security, and availability through proactive monitoring. Manage scheduled backups, recovery plans, and disaster recovery strategies. Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and SSIS packages for reporting and integration.

Management Reporting & IT KPIs

Design, maintain, and deliver management-level reports related to ERP usage, system performance, and retail analytics.

Support the development and visualization of IT Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring regular tracking and reporting to management. Collaborate with department heads to identify critical reporting needs and develop custom reports using NAV, SQL, and external BI tools where necessary. Contribute to the IT department's performance reviews by providing accurate data and analysis.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central and LS Retail. Demonstrated functional consulting experience with the ability to capture and translate business requirements effectively. Advanced SQL Server knowledge, including T-SQL, SSIS, and database administration tasks. Proficiency in C/AL and AL languages, with a solid understanding of NAV architecture and development practices. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across departments. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing diverse responsibilities.
