Dubai Heights Academy Dubai Heights Academy is a warm and welcoming place to work. We opened in 2017 and offer an inclusive, exciting and outstanding education to an international community of students from FS1 to Year 9 (August 2022) and will continue to grow organically to Year 13. Dubai Heights Academy has partnered with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) to develop and deliver a bespoke AI (artificial intelligence) project-based programme for Key Stage 3 students. We currently have an opening for an educational consultant to serve as a MIT research representative of the AI (RAICA) project in Dubai to be based at our school. This is a part-time role and the successful candidate should already be in the UAE.
Job Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, execute, and provide feedback on computational thinking (CT) and AI Literacy curricula for middle school classroom educational activities at Dubai Heights Academy (DHA).
Help ensure conformance of curriculum with established school and government standards
Collaborate with MIT on research objectives toward the further development of student curricula and teacher training materials
Gather and report on local feedback from classes and training activities to improve student outcomes and teacher professional development
Communicate activities with students, teachers and parents during activity cycles
Get informed consent from the parents for student participation, assist with data collection, and analysis as appropriate.
Assist to recruit other computer science teachers in Dubai and environs, as needed
Attend online staff meetings, as needed
Qualifications
Technical degree in engineering or computer science, Master\xe2\x80\x99s level preferred
At least three years post graduate professional or teaching experience in Python and web programming. Recent graduates considered only with coding teaching experience.
Preferred experience with robotics and/or artificial intelligence
Preferred experience in working with students of determination (i.e., special needs)
Good observational note-taking skills and schedule management skills
Fluent at using Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets and MS Office, and managing files on a computer, i.e., backing up camera memory cards to a designated location, sharing files in Google Drive, by email or on Slack
